I based these pots on the brush pots that Chinese scholars and calligraphers used for their precious brushes. Just as good for dried flowers and grasses.







A large stoneware flagon with iron oxide under a matt white glaze.

A medium sized stoneware flagon with carved decoration and cobalt and copper oxides under a matt white glaze and iron oxide with no glaze.



A small stoneware plate with cobalt oxide under a matt white glaze.

A large plate made of coarse black clay with cobalt oxide under a matt white glaze.

A very large white stoneware plate with shiny red glaze bordered by three different blue glazes.

Three plates, one large (12in diameter), made of black clay finished with matt white and copper green glazes. Two small (5 in diameter) one with matt blue glaze the other with matt white glaze over iron and copper oxides.



Two small flagons, approx 8 inches high, one finished with just iron oxide under a matt white glaze and the other with copper and cobalt as well as iron oxides.




A open box and a small lampbase both with carved design of woodland s scenes. Finished with iron and copper oxides and a matt white glaze.


A brush pot – or dried flower vase – with a white glaze over iron, copper and Cobalt oxides. Note – the holes are cut right through the sides therefore definitely not suitable for liquids!!
